binary-options-indexes-sse-compositeAbout the stock index: The SSE Composite (Shanghai Stock Exchange) is the primary index of the Shanghai Exchange in China. The index was established July 15, 1991 and is calculated based upon the market capitalization of 237 companies and follows the price changes of the listed stocks daily. Stocks are listed in two categories: Compartment A (listed in Yuan) and Compartment B (listed in dollars).

SSE Composite Index composition: The SSE Composite Index generally reflects Shanghai Exchange activity and groups together the most significant Chinese companies. The index is made up of the SSE 50 (the 50 most significant cap stocks) and the SSE Composite 180 (from the 51st to the 230th most significant cap stocks).

The most representative companies on the SSE Composite Index: The most representative companies are from the financial and insurance sector such as the Bank of China and China Life Insurance. The energy sector is equally present with companies such as Petrochina, China Petroleum and China Shenhua Energy. All the aforementioned companies are part of the 10 largest Chinese cap stocks.
